Weddings & Events

Summersweet weddings and events begin with a complimentary consultation where we exchange ideas and gather details for your vision. Following our consultation, a customized proposal is emailed to you.  The proposal is a working document that allows us to make modifications as needed.  When you are happy with the proposal, we book your date with a deposit and detailed contract. Let's grab a cup of coffee or a cocktail and chat!

 

Holidays

Custom decorating for the holidays may be as simple as a decorated wreath for your front door or as elaborate as full service design and interior decorating for your home.  Whatever you decide, we can take one more thing off of your "to-do" list during this busy time and let you relax.  Contact us to find out more.


FAQ

I just got engaged, where do I begin?

We recommend that you book a complimentary consultation once you have your wedding date, venue(s) and general ideas selected. This could be anywhere from 3 months to 1 year from your wedding date. Keep in mind that weddings in the Northwest are most popular from July until October, and weekends book fast.

What should I bring to my consultation?

Bring your phone, notebook, laptop or inspiration book--anything to help us get an idea of how you want your day to feel.  Consider colors and blooms you already love and gather inspiration from your own personal style, Pinterest and magazines.  We will discuss everything that will help us create a vision for your day.   

Do you have a price list?

At Summersweet we have worked with all kinds of budgets.  Prices can vary depending on season, complexity of design, flower selection, quantity and labor. Your quote is customized to fit your style.  By taking your budget into consideration from the very beginning of the planning process, we can give you the best advice on flower selection and placement for maximum effect and overall design aesthetic.

Where is Summersweet Design located?

We design in a private studio located in NE Portland. Our focus and passion is focused on bringing the best floral design to weddings, events and clients.  We deliver throughout the Portland Metro area.

What is your rental and return policy?

We are pleased to provide rentals items to clients that book with us.  All rentals require a valid credit card on file. Rentals are to be returned within 3 days of the event unless other arrangements have been made.  If rentals are not returned, or are in unsatisfactory condition, client will be charged the full replacement cost.

What is the difference between full service and drop-off delivery?

Full service delivery is available for weddings that require on-site set up, transfer to another location or other general labor.  Drop-off delivery is based on location and does not include any labor.  Arranging a wedding flower pick-up is available for personal flowers only. (bouquets, boutonnieres and corsages)

How much is it to book my wedding?

We require a $250 deposit and a signed contract to secure your wedding date. 

When are final payments due?

You final payment is due 30 days prior to your wedding date.  We are flexible if you would like to make regular payments for your wedding flowers.

Meet the Owner / Lead Designer

Heather Peterson

Born and raised in Portland, Heather worked in the non profit world before realizing that she wanted to pursue skills she learned as a child; designing flowers and creating cool stuff. Heather trained under the direction of a florist in her family as well as several great flower shops in Oregon. Aside from Summersweet Design, Heather enjoys spending time with her husband and kiddos, eating, cheering for the University of Oregon Ducks, attending concerts and being outside.
